Joy is everywhere, especially this time of year. Christmas music, seasons greetings, and holiday wishes. It seems everyone is happy, jubilant, and… joyful!
Many of us know that joy is a state of being rather than momentary contentment. And often, we’re met with challenges that try (and sometimes do) steal our joy. When I begin to feel down, discouraged, and disappointed – I realize that I’m spending too much time looking at my situation and not enough time reaching out to meet someone else’s needs.
Jeremiah 31:3 says, “I have loved you, my people, with an everlasting love.”
Rich, poor. Young, old. Married, single. We all share a common thread: God’s everlasting love. But not everyone knows that so it’s our job to show them!
This holiday season, take the focus off self and purpose to spread the joy of the Lord.
Do good for others. Support someone’s dream. Give-back. Lend a helping hand. Pray for someone. Be a listening ear and a shoulder to cry on. Forgive and enjoy your friends and family while they’re still here.
